For a Democratic candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) is backing, that means the exposure of an affair she had. Not only will the revelation likely hurt their campaign, but it could also damage AOC’s.

AOC-backed 28-year-old immigration lawyer Jessica Cisneros had an affair with her former high school teacher, John Balli, 51. At the time she was an 18-year-old college student and Balli was 40. Cisneros began seeing the high school teacher in 2011, sending him a happy third-year anniversary message in 2014.
Balli married a woman the next year, and 11 months after their wedding, Cisneros sent him a lengthy and emotional email deploring their breakup, which according to emails was his idea. The Democratic candidate mentioned how her former high school teacher had been a part of her life for the past seven years in her heartbroken email.
AOC has backed Cisneros in the past and is backing her again as she takes on Henry Cuellar (D-TX) in a run-off race for the congressional seat. The recent revelations could damage Cisneros’ campaign despite the FBI raiding her opponent’s home in January. The question is whether or not AOC’s support of Cisneros will come back to hurt her image as well.
