Reckoning is finally at China’s doorstep after the White House officially confirmed that COVID-19 actually originated from a lab leak in the communist country.
Specifically, federal officials have redirected the government’s COVID-19 information hub to a new website.
The site plainly states that the virus came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, not from nature, as Dr. Anthony Fauci and others had long insisted.
Titled “Lab Leak: True Origins of COVID-19,” the new White House website presents five compelling pieces of evidence.
This dramatic shift acknowledges that the virus likely emerged from a Chinese laboratory that was conducting dangerous gain-of-function research with U.S. taxpayer dollars.
The revelation contradicts years of denials from health officials and mainstream media outlets that mocked the lab leak theory as a conspiracy.
Among the evidence cited is the virus’s unique biological characteristics, its single introduction into humans, the presence of China’s leading SARS research facility in Wuhan, reports of researchers with COVID-like symptoms before the official outbreak, and the complete lack of evidence for a natural origin despite years of searching.
The website also directly criticizes Dr. Fauci for his role in promoting the natural origin theory while dismissing the possibility of a lab leak.
It details how Fauci influenced and edited a scientific paper that was subsequently used to discredit the lab leak theory early in the pandemic.
“The accusation being circulated that I influenced the scientists to change their minds by bribing them with millions of dollars in grant money is absolutely false, and simply preposterous. I had no input into the content of the published paper,” claimed Fauci.

Despite his denials, the White House site reveals that EcoHealth Alliance, led by Dr. Peter Daszak, channeled U.S. government money to fund risky gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab.
This funding was later suspended, and the Department of Justice launched an investigation into the organization’s activities.
The website condemns the National Institutes of Health for deficient procedures in funding and oversight of dangerous research that poses serious public health and national security threats.
The new website also targets failed pandemic policies, criticizing social distancing, mask mandates, and lockdowns that devastated the economy while doing little to stop the virus.
Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is specifically called out for “medical malpractice” in his handling of nursing home patients during the crisis.
Additionally, the World Health Organization faces sharp criticism for its inadequate response to COVID-19 and for bowing to Chinese authorities.
President Donald Trump initiated America’s withdrawal from the WHO during his first term, citing the organization’s failures and its China-friendly stance.
The White House’s position echoes findings from the Republican-led Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic’s final report from December 2024, which concluded that the most likely origin of COVID-19 was gain-of-function research.
The site also accuses the Biden administration’s Department of Health and Human Services of deliberately obstructing investigations into the origins of the pandemic.
While U.S. intelligence agencies remain divided on COVID-19’s exact source, the White House’s declaration represents the strongest official acknowledgment yet that the virus that killed millions began in a Chinese laboratory.
