(AmericanProsperity.com) – Ever since the events of January 6 unfolded at our nation’s Capital, Democrats have used the chaos of that day to attack former President Donald Trump and everything he stands for. Yet, even after multiple government agencies have delved into the invasion of the halls of Congress, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) won’t back down from forming her own committee investigation into that day.
On Thursday, June 24, Pelosi held a press conference and announced she will “be establishing a Select Committee on the January 6th Insurrection,” noting that the “trauma is something I can never forget or forgive.”
News outlet Roll Call shared the news as it was announced:
NEW: Speaker Nancy Pelosi announces that she will launch a House select committee to investigate the Jan. 6 mob attack on the Capitol. The move comes after an effort to establish a bipartisan independent commission was thwarted by Senate Republicans.

Rather than accepting that Congress was unable to pass a bill establishing a bipartisan commission, Pelosi is continuing her attack on Trump and his supporters alone. Pelosi has not shared the details of the committee, but she emphasized it will focus on the “causes” of the “insurrection” for “as long as it takes.”
Understandably, most GOP lawmakers will dismiss Pelosi’s new committee as a political stunt by Democrats in order to continue blaming President Trump for their problems. But, Americans are now used to the Left’s continued barrage against the conservative leader, so this committee will likely have little influence over our nation’s politics down the road.
