People Speaking Out Against Harris’ Price Control Plan

(AmericanProsperity.com) – The media has been looking deep into Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, and although her campaign is strong, there are many people who have not been supporting her recently proposed economic policy.

The Harris campaign said that a “federal ban on price gouging on food and groceries” would be instituted as the administration focuses on stopping “big corporations” from taking advantage of consumers.

“Whether the Harris proposal wins over voters remains to be seen, but if sound economic analysis still matters, it won’t,” Washington Post said in response.

This campaign proposal would give authority to the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys to impose harsh penalties on companies who set excessively high prices.

The Harris campaign stated, “There’s a big difference between fair pricing in competitive markets and excessive prices unrelated to the costs of doing business.”

The Post also spoke out about Harris’ plan saying, “Ms. Harris says she’ll target companies that make ‘excessive’ profits, whatever that means.”

Some have said that it goes against free market economics and that supply and demand would no longer control the price of products. Instead, the FTC would be able to tell a grocer what an acceptable price to charge for an item would be.

Some people were supportive of Harris and stated that her policies actually weren’t as strict as the factsheet sent in and that she isn’t imposing price controls, but instead she is saying that antitrust enforcement is good.

Many news anchors spoke out against Harris’ economic plan and stated that it was not necessarily a great idea with one even saying that it was a “ploy.”
