(AmericanProsperity.com) – Raising concerns about election integrity and voter intimidation, a Pennsylvania man faces federal charges for threatening a political party worker.

62-year-old Philadelphia resident John Pollard has been charged with making interstate threats against a state political party representative who was recruiting poll watchers.

The victim posted online about their efforts to ensure election security, a key element to maintaining the integrity of the democratic process.

Last month, Pollard allegedly sent a series of menacing text messages to the victim. The threats were so severe that they caught the attention of federal authorities.

Pollard was then arrested and was scheduled to appear in federal court in Philadelphia.

The content of the messages is truly shocking. According to court documents, Pollard’s threats included statements like “I will KILL YOU IF YOU DON’T ANSWER ME!” and “Your days are numbered, B****!”

“GONNA F***ING FIND YOU AND SKIN YOU ALIVE AND USE YOUR SKIN FOR F***ING TOILET PAPER, YOU F***ING KKK**T!” Pollard also wrote.

The Justice Department’s Criminal Division and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania are prosecuting the case, while the FBI Pittsburgh Field Office leads the investigation.

If convicted, Pollard faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison for interstate threats.

This case is part of the Justice Department’s Election Threats Task Force, established in June 2021 to address the growing problem of threats against election workers.

While the task force’s goal is to ensure election workers can perform their duties without fear, some critics argue that it may be used to silence legitimate concerns about election integrity.

It is worth noting that Pollard had allegedly expressed interest in being a poll watcher himself before sending the threatening texts.
