Did The Pope Just Make a Nuclear Prophecy?
(AmericanProsperity.com) – The war in Ukraine has passed the six-month mark with no sign of concluding anytime soon. The threat of nuclear disaster looms over the conflict, but not because of the potential use of atomic weapons. Pope Francis recently warned of a nuclear disaster brewing at Ukraine’s Zaporizhia power plant.
During his weekly general audience on the day marking Ukraine’s independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, the Catholic leader urged the need for “concrete steps” to bring an end to the war in Eastern Europe. The Pope hopes ending the fighting will avoid a potential disaster at the Ukrainian nuclear facility, which Russian forces quickly gained control of in the early stages of their invasion.
Francis called war “madness,” noting the death of a prominent Russian ultra-nationalist’s daughter, Darya Dugina, whom the Pope claimed was “innocent.” Dugina died in a car bombing that Moscow blamed on Ukraine, an allegation the defending country denies.
Pope Francis has mentioned his intention to visit the capitals of both countries, with hopes to go to Moscow first, in an effort to promote peace in the region. However, Ukrainian officials have lobbied against the idea, claiming it would send the wrong message to their people.
