Protestors of Israel-Hamas War Don’t Support Harris, But Warn of Trump

(AmericanProsperity.com) – Leaders of a Democratic protest vote movement against the Israel-Hamas war said that they wouldn’t be endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, but they did urge against Donald Trump.

The “Uncommitted” movement drew in hundreds of thousands of voters in Democratic primaries earlier this year in protest of Joe Biden’s handling of the war. The group’s leaders pushed the administration to change its policies on the war.

Leaders were not happy when their needs weren’t met, especially after multiple discussions with the Democratic establishment. They were denied a speaker on stage at the Democratic National Convention and had other issues with how the convention was held without regard for the plight of the Palestinians.

The movement leaders said, “Harris’ unwillingness to shift on unconditional weapons policy or to even make a clear campaign statement in support of upholding existing U.S. and international human rights law has made it impossible for us to endorse her.”

Group leaders made it clear in a statement that they strongly oppose voters voting for Donald Trump or a third-party candidate who could “inadvertently deliver a Trump presidency.”

They urged for voter registration in order to cast “anti-Trump votes and vote up and down the ballot.”

Said the leaders, “In our assessment, our movement’s best hope for change lies in growing our anti-war organizing power, and that power would be severely undermined by a Trump administration.”

Harris’ campaign didn’t address the group’s announcement and statement directly, but they did come out with a statement on Harris’ continued work.

Harris’ campaign stated, “She will continue working to bring the war in Gaza to an end in a way where Israel is secure, the hostages are released, the suffering in Gaza ends, and the Palestinian people can realize their right to dignity, security, freedom and self-determination.”

The movement with this group started in Michigan where over one hundred thousand voters marked their ballots as “Uncommitted” in the state’s Democratic primary.
