Hate Crimes SKYROCKET – See What City Is Affected
(AmericanProsperity.com) – Violent crime has been on the rise in New York City, and people commit many of these acts out of hate and discrimination. Last month a 57-year-old woman was riding the bus when three teenagers attacked her for being white. Police have since arrested all three assailants, with the third arrest coming on August 15.
The victim, Jill LeCroix, told the New York Post that three black women in their late teens to early 20s approached her on a bus. The 57-year-old grandmother of five children noted that one of the attackers asserted they hated everything about white people. The girl allegedly expressed she was going to “kill” the older woman and bury her as they passed a cemetery.
The victim added she was the only white person on the bus at the time. LeCroix recalled that a green-haired teen told her she “probably” liked Trump. The 57-year-old commented that she did, explaining that’s when one of them began beating her on the bus.
The attack left LeCroix, who was on her way to see her mother, battered and bruised. The assailants left a gash on her head that required three staples to close. She explained she’d never been attacked like that.
Authorities arrested two of the three assailants on July 26. Police charged the two teens, 15 and 16 years old, with aggravated harassment and assault as hate crimes. Meanwhile, law enforcement recently arrested the third teen, 19-year-old Jahnaiya Williams, charging her with second-degree aggravated harassment and second- and third-degree assault. Police also charged Williams with second- and third-degree assault and third-degree menacing as hate crimes, according to 1010 WINS.
As violent crime rises in NYC, so do the number of hate crimes. CNN cited data from the New York Police Department (NYPD) Hate Crimes Task Force back in April, indicating a 76% increase from the same period in 2021. The agency’s dashboard shows 338 of these types of incidents have occurred between the beginning of the year and June 28. The attack on LeCroix happened after that date, meaning there are likely many more to add to the list.
Of the recorded hate crimes, there have been 35 aimed at blacks, eight against Hispanics, 51 focused on Asians, 18 targeting Muslims, 149 against Jews, and only one affecting a white person. Two now, counting LeCroix’s incident. What could be driving these hate crimes to such numbers?
