R Kelly Gets a 30-Year Prison Sentence for His Crimes

This Star Sentenced To Prison For What Could Be The Rest Of His Life

(AmericanProsperity.com) – Former R&B superstar Robert Kelly, better known to the public as R. Kelly, has fallen a long way since his music days. The disgraced singer has found himself in trouble after allegations of sex trafficking, racketeering, and sexual abuse surfaced. The “I Believe I Can Fly” singer recently stood trial, where a judge handed him a three-decade prison sentence.

On June 29, Kelly’s month-long trial finally concluded when Judge Ann Donnelly convicted the performer of nine separate charges, including human trafficking and sex crimes, and handed down a 30-year sentence. Originally, prosecutors had requested the singer serve a minimum of 25 years in prison.

Throughout his trial, dozens of witnesses testified, exposing Kelly’s enterprise, which included having bodyguards, managers, and assistants find potential victims for the singer to groom and sexually abuse; some were just kids. TMZ mentioned that Kelly didn’t testify in his defense, or even take the stand. Instead, his legal team called a handful of witnesses to defend him, though prosecutors called several more.

Multiple victims came forward to testify and explain what the disgraced singer put them through and the pain they suffered. One woman asked Kelly if he remembered what he did to her, claiming he made her “do things” that broke her spirit, asserting she’d wished she was dead because of the horrible experience.

According to Daily Caller, Judge Donnelly said during the delivery of her decision that while Kelly did use sex as a “weapon,” that’s not what the was case about; instead, it was “about violence, cruelty and control.”

Do you feel he got the punishment he deserved, or did Donnelly go easy on him?
