What liberals thought was a good idea turned into a media circus when Ben & Jerry’s outspoken liberal co-founder was arrested.
Watch the video down below.
74-year-old ice cream mogul Ben Cohen was taken out in handcuffs after disrupting Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Senate testimony with anti-Israel rhetoric.
The millionaire activist shouted about Gaza while being forcibly removed from the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee hearing.
Capitol Police arrested Cohen and six other protesters after they began heckling and chanting during Kennedy’s opening statement.
The disruption forced committee chairman Senator Bill Cassidy to temporarily pause the proceedings while authorities restored order.
“Members of the audience are reminded disruptions will not be permitted while the committee conducts its business. Capitol Police are asked to remove the individuals from the hearing room,” Cassidy stated firmly.
At the same time, the senator described the incident as “a made-for-C-SPAN moment.”
Video footage captured Cohen being forcibly escorted from the hearing room as he continued to shout his leftist talking points.
All seven protesters were charged with Crowding, Obstructing, and Incommoding, a misdemeanor offense.
Some of the agitators face additional charges, including resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
The protesters repeatedly chanted, “RFK kills people with hate!” while Cohen shouted, “Congress sent the bombs that kill children in Gaza and pays it with cuts to Medicaid.”
Unsurprisingly, this is not Cohen’s first brush with the law for his political activism.
The ice cream mogul was previously arrested in 2023 for protesting outside the Department of Homeland Security.
He was also detained for demonstrating against the prosecution of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
This pattern of disruptive behavior shows a clear disrespect for law and order.
Ben & Jerry’s has a long history of pushing progressive politics, even after being sold to corporate giant Unilever in 2000.
The company stoked controversy in 2021 by announcing it would stop selling products in Israel’s West Bank, referring to the region as “Occupied Palestinian Territory.”
The spectacle underscores how wealthy liberal elites like Cohen believe they can disrupt government proceedings without consequences.
Americans deserve better than having their government institutions hijacked by radical protesters pushing anti-American, anti-Israel rhetoric.
