Will Desantis Be the 2024 GOP Nominee?
(AmericanProsperity.com) – The 2022 midterms are behind us, and the nation is starting to look ahead to the presidential election in 2024. Trump-backed candidates proved to have far less support than the 45th Commander-in-Chief had hoped, and the GOP spotlight appears to have shifted in the process. Online betting markets point toward Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) as the party’s next presidential nominee.
Election Betting Odds averaged wagers from two online betting platforms, PredictIt and Betfair, on candidates’ chances of winning the next US presidency. Both websites allow users to bet real money on issues that affect the public. As of November 10, their data predicts DeSantis has a 28.9% chance of winning the 2024 US presidency. Trump came in second with a 17.2% chance, hovering over Biden’s 15.6% likelihood of returning to office.

The New York Times reported DeSantis won his gubernatorial re-election bid in a landslide against liberal challenger Charlie Crist. The news has made the politician a real threat to Trump, whose 2018 endorsement of DeSantis likely helped the Republican win his first gubernatorial race.
The two Conservatives have been less friendly toward one another in recent months. According to Rolling Stone, Trump recently went so far as to threaten to disclose harmful information about DeSantis. But with a successful re-election campaign behind him and much of the $200 million he’d raised unspent and poised to fund a presidential bid, the governor could be the GOP’s next rising star.
