Ron DeSantis Fired This Guy, But He Won’t Go Away

(AmericanProsperity.com) – After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, abortion bans went into effect all around the country. Florida was no exception, as state law bans the practice at 15 weeks of pregnancy. When the state attorney signified that he was not going to comply with the new law, or laws prohibiting “gender-affirming” and life-changing surgery on minors, Governor Ron DeSantis suspended him, but he won’t go away, according to The Hill

Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren instead went to the state’s Supreme Court to argue that the governor “exceeded his powers,” hoping that he would be reinstated to his position. But the Democrat’s attempt to go around the governor’s decision has so far been unsuccessful.

U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle agreed with Warren that his suspension was unconstitutional in the state but ultimately dismissed the case on the grounds that he did not have the authority to reinstate him to his position. But Hinkle also sided with the attorney and disagreed with DeSantis’ comments that he was “incompetent” or “neglected his duty.”

Warren’s next move is asking the state Supreme Court to rule on DeSantis’ abuse of power.

The U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The organization disputed a Mississippi law banning abortion at 15 weeks of pregnancy, according to American Pigeon. The organization reportedly argued that because fetal viability begins around 22 weeks, the law created an “undue burden” on women.

The court ruled that abortion has never been part of the country’s tradition and that the Fourteenth Amendment never mentioned abortion in its text, effectively eliminating the fictitious right to abortion that Roe concocted.

In addition, other states are implementing laws against gender surgery for minors, with South Carolina considering restricting anyone under 21 from surgery and Utah becoming the first state in the country to ban surgeries for those under 18, according to American Pigeon
