Ron DeSantis Says No - COVID Variant Will Not Cause Restrictions In Florida

( – The CDC recently confirmed two cases of the new Omicron variant in Florida. However, that isn’t enough to scare Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) into erasing constituents’ freedoms. Fortunately for freedom lovers, the outspoken leader isn’t backing down to immense federal pressure to enact draconian mandates in response.

Reporters questioned DeSantis during a press conference in which he announced nearly $270 million in construction projects set to take place across the Sunshine State. The ambitious ventures seek to help combat flooding caused by tropical weather and an overall rise in the sea level.

When reporters asked about the Omicron variant in Florida, DeSantis responded candidly. He verified that there had been two confirmed cases in total. When the governor proclaimed, “In Florida, we won’t let them lock you down” afterward, the crowd of attendees responded with cheers and applause.

Whether you agree or disagree with the governor’s position, it’s impossible to deny that DeSantis’s steadfast dedication to upholding freedom has remained consistent throughout the pandemic. As a result, Florida was free from lockdowns as early as September of 2020. But, the much-beloved governor has taken his own hard-line approach to the pandemic from day one, focusing on treatment over prevention.

Statistics also speak for themselves. Desantis’ handling of the pandemic allowed Florida to maintain some of the lowest rates of COVID-19 across the nation. Perhaps other state leaders should borrow from his teachings.
