(AmericanProsperity.com) – Tragedy struck the heart of rural America as reigning 2024 Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas Emma C. Brungardt died in a devastating car crash.
The accident happened in Thomas County, Kansas, at a Y intersection where the 2007 Ford F-250 pickup truck struck a tree row.
The five other passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to Citizens Medical Center in Colby for treatment.
19-year-old Brungardt was more than just a rodeo queen. As a first-generation cowgirl, she blazed trails in equine management and participated in rodeo events such as goat tying, breakaway and team roping.
She was involved in Future Farmers of America and the Kansas Wild Horse Youth Challenge, showcasing her commitment to agricultural traditions and animal husbandry.
Brungardt’s achievements were remarkable for someone so young. She won grand champion in the Kansas Wild Horse Youth Challenge in both 2019 and 2021, demonstrating her exceptional skills and dedication to horsemanship.
She took part in the Kansas High School Rodeo Association for two years, cementing her status as a rising star in the rodeo world.
The Miss Rodeo Kansas Pageant praised Brungardt as a dedicated rodeo queen, while her Colby Community College Rodeo Team described her as a positive and uplifting presence.
A candlelight vigil is planned to honor Emma’s memory, allowing the community to come together in prayer and remembrance.
