(AmericanProsperity.com) – Adding to the long list of concerns Americans are currently facing, it has been revealed that 30 million cars are at risk of putting their owners in danger.
Specifically, car owners are under siege from soaring maintenance costs due to the inflation caused by Joe Biden’s liberal policies.
A staggering 29% of American car owners are behind on oil changes, while an alarming 44% have fallen behind on tire rotations.
These statistics are a ticking time bomb on American highways. As costs spiral out of control, families are being forced to choose between putting food on the table and keeping their vehicles safe.
A four-year inflation period and sky-high interest rates have devastated the average American’s disposable income.
The result is a perfect storm of financial pressure, pushing essential car maintenance out of reach for millions.
“I think all of this is due to a four-year inflation period along with high interest rates which have caused a spike in food prices, insurance costs, housing costs…all of which have hit the consumer in the pocketbook and evaporated any free cash the consumer may have,” explained Celebrity Motor Cars owner Tom Maoli.
But it is not just about money. Vehicles have become increasingly complex, now requiring specialized technicians and expensive parts.
Many of said parts are in short supply thanks to the administration’s mishandling of supply chains during the pandemic.
The consequences of this maintenance crisis are dire. Neglected vehicles are more prone to breakdowns and accidents, putting innocent lives at risk.
“When families go on a road trip or you’re going to visit your kid in college, or even if you’re just going to and from work, when you delay these types of maintenance, you’re putting your car at risk,” warned CarFax Editor in Chief Patrick Olsen.
“So, oil changes, you know, your engine can seize up or burn oil more quickly,” he added.
The average age of cars on American roads has now reached 12.5 years – a clear sign that families are struggling to afford new vehicles.
This aging fleet requires more maintenance, not less, creating a vicious cycle that traps hardworking Americans in unsafe, unreliable vehicles.
“You can only stretch a rubber band so far until it breaks. I think that’s where the consumer is at this time,” Maoli concluded.
