(AmericanProsperity.com) – Sidney Powell, a powerful voice in Trump’s election fraud battle, recently found herself in a separate legal struggle. This time, the election lawyer isn’t fighting for a client; she’s fighting for herself. Powell recently filed a lawsuit against Verizon in an effort to protect her privacy.

Powell’s lawsuit comes after the January 6 Committee subpoenaed her phone records. Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) noted that Powell, along with Rudy Giuliani, former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis, and Boris Epshteyn, all played a part in advancing Trump’s claims of election fraud. According to officials, Powell was in close contact with the former president concerning stopping the electoral count while he attempted to overturn the election results.
After the 2020 presidential election, Powell promised to prove someone rigged the results. The Trump ally accused Dominion and Smartmatic of somehow altering or programming their voting machines to favor Joe Biden, aiding him in defeating Trump.
The Daily Beast reported that Powell submitted the lawsuit in Dallas, TX. The suit declares Powell wasn’t involved in the attacks that took place on January 6, adding that the Department of Justice is still attempting to gain access to her information for some reason. Powell’s suit claims records the committee is trying to look into contain confidential, privileged attorney-client communication.
