(AmericanProsperity.com) – DNC candidate for Georgia, Stacey Abrams, recently visited children at a local school mask-free. She later posted photos from the experience to Twitter; they immediately went viral and prompted an intense backlash. That forced the political hopeful to apologize for ignoring the school’s mask requirement.

Photos of Abrams taken at Glenwood Elementary School in Decatur showcase her sitting in front of students. All of the children are wearing masks; Abrams is not, despite sitting only inches away.
Conservatives and critics quickly grilled the gubernatorial candidate over her decision to flaunt the school’s guidelines. They asked why she opted out when the young students around her were clearly forced to don them for the visit.
With mandates across the country forcing people and children to wear masks, many officials seem all too happy to ignore their own regulations. It proves how hypocritical they can be when “rules for thee, but not for me” comes into play.
Abrams later appeared on CNN’s OutFront, where she spoke with host Erin Burnett about the incident. She apologized for not wearing her mask.
The Georgian politician admits she made a mistake by opting out while surrounded by masked children, claiming she approached her podium with a mask on but took it off to read to the young students. But photos on social media seem to tell a different story.
Abrams also asserted that the protection of children is a top priority, stating that protocols matter and are in place for a reason. She said that any action undermining mandates is a mistake — including her own.
Is Abrams sincere? She wouldn’t be the first Democrat to push for mask mandates while essentially ignoring them.
