Sudden Arrest Made in 2015 Disappearance and Murder

(AmericanProsperity.com) – The FBI announced on September 27 that the ex-boyfriend of Crystal Rogers, who is the Kentucky mother of five who suddenly disappeared in 2015, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Rogers’ vanishing. The mother of five was officially reported missing in July 2015, with local authorities saying at that time they thought she was dead. However, her body was never found.

The bureau noted that agents of the Kentucky State Police and the FBI Louisville office arrested Rogers’ ex-boyfriend Brook Houck, following an investigation into her sudden disappearance. An unsealed indictment showed he was charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence.

In a statement, the bureau’s Louisville office said that the man’s bond was $10 million and pointed out that more details about this case will be shown to the public during his arraignment in October. The FBI also said this will take place at the Nelson County Circuit Court.

According to different reports, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office declared Houck as a suspect three months after Rogers disappeared. The office explained at that time Houck was one of the last persons to have seen the mother of five alive at their home in Bardstown, where they used to live with their son.

A day after her disappearance, Rogers’ vehicle was found abandoned with the keys in the ignition at a Bluegrass Parkway. The FB’s Louisville office said that her smartphone and keys were inside a purse that was found in the vehicle. Three months later, then-Nelson County Sheriff Ed Mattingly publicly said he and his office believed she was dead.

In a Facebook statement, the Rogers family welcomed the authorities’ announcement about Houck’s arrest. The family expressed its gratitude to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Commonwealth Attorney Shane Young, the Attorney General’s Office, the Kentucky State Police, and the FBI. It also asked for privacy, as it pointed out this was another important step to finally reach “justice for Crystal.”
