Terror Fears Rise After Arrests Of Migrants Linked to ISIS

(AmericanProsperity.com) – There has been an increased fear that terrorists are entering the country, especially with the recent arrests of eight individuals who crossed the border and are believed to be terrorists with ties to the ISIS terror organization.

Retired U.S. Army Major General Dana Pittard spoke out about this, saying, “The fact that these eight ISIS suspects got through the southern border really is a travesty.”

Eight Tajikistan nationals were taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force to make the arrests, which took place in New York City, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles.

All of the suspects crossed the border illegally but they were not initially flagged or stopped by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection or the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

NYC Democratic Councilman Robert Holden said, “It’s frightening, and we’re headed for another 9/11.”

He continued, “I predicted that, I think we should have a secure border. We should know who’s coming into our country – we don’t. And millions of migrants and illegal aliens have gotten through. So it’s a situation that we’re just, you know, really rolling the dice here.”

Pittard spoke out saying that ISIS is very dangerous and that everyone should be vigilant and keep their eyes open for any suspicious activity.

Following the arrests and the concern about potential threats, the DHS and the FBI came out with a joint statement. “The individuals arrested are detained in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. As the FBI and DHS have recently described in public and partner bulletins, the U.S. has been in a heightened threat environment,” it read.

They continued, “The FBI and DHS will continue working around the clock with our partners to identify, investigate, and disrupt potential threats to national security.”

The operation was highlighted by a journalist who said that a wiretap revealed that one of the suspects was talking about bombs. The concern for the potential of “coordinated” terrorist attacks has risen substantially.
