(AmericanProsperity.com) – The Biden administration’s reckless immigration policies have once again put American lives at risk, as an Afghan illegal who worked as a CIA security guard has been arrested for plotting an ISIS-inspired Election Day massacre.
Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, an Afghan illegal living in Oklahoma City, was indicted for conspiring to carry out a terror attack on U.S. soil.
Tawhedi entered the country on September 9, 2021, shortly after the Biden-Harris administration’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Despite supposedly undergoing rigorous screening, this potential terrorist slipped through the cracks and was allowed to settle in America.
Meanwhile, the alleged plot involved plans for an ISIS-inspired massacre on Election Day, with Tawhedi expecting to die as a martyr.
In turn, federal investigators claimed he took concrete steps to advance his plans, including ordering AK-47 rifles, arranging travel for his family back to Afghanistan, and researching states with lax gun laws.
This criminal even went as far as meeting with undercover FBI agents to purchase weapons and ammunition.
Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond did not mince words when addressing this security breach:
“It is clear they failed to properly vet all refugees, which poses a significant threat to national security. Tawhedi is one of many thousands sent to America after the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.”
“Every Afghan resettled in the U.S. undergoes a rigorous screening and vetting process no matter which agency they worked with,” an official stated. “That process includes checking against a full range of US records and holdings.”
Furthermore, this hollow assurance from Biden-Harris administration officials rings false in light of Tawhedi’s arrest.
The fact that a former CIA security guard could become radicalized and plot a terror attack on American soil raises serious questions about the effectiveness of vetting procedures.
Adding to the concern, a May 2024 Department of Homeland Security Office (DHS) of Inspector General report highlighted a fragmented vetting process for Afghan parolees. It revealed there was no plan to remove the 77,000 Afghans paroled into the U.S.
Additionally, House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green has rightly pressed DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FBI Director Christopher Wray for answers regarding this alarming security lapse.
The Tawhedi case is not an isolated incident. In June 2024, eight Tajikistani illegals with ISIS ties were arrested in the U.S., some of whom had entered through the porous Southwest border.
As another critical election is coming, it is clear that the current administration’s lax immigration policies and failed Afghan refugee vetting process have created a perfect storm of national security threats.
