(AmericanProsperity.com) – Championing President-elect Donald Trump’s America First agenda, Texas has taken bold action to secure the nation’s borders and protect its citizens.
The Lone Star State has offered over 1,400 acres of land near the U.S.-Mexico border to aid Trump’s plans for mass deportations of illegals.
Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham extended the offer to Trump, highlighting the state’s firm commitment to supporting aggressive border security measures.
Texas purchased the 1,402-acre parcel of rural ranchland last month. It is located in Starr County in the Rio Grande Valley.
Buckingham stated:
“By offering this newly-acquired 1400-acre property to the incoming Trump Administration for the construction of a facility for the processing, detention, and coordination of what will be the largest deportation of violent criminals in our nation’s history, I stand united with President Donald Trump to ensure American families are protected.”
The land, which is nearly twice the size of New York City’s Central Park, provides excellent logistical advantages for construction and access.
Its strategic location will make it possible for law enforcement to fight cartel activities and secure areas like Fronton Island, a former hotspot for human trafficking and cartel violence.
Texas has long been a leader in implementing tough border security measures: it has built razor-wire barriers and enacted laws allowing authorities to arrest illegals.
While Democrat-controlled states like California, Arizona and New Mexico continue to obstruct efforts to secure America’s borders, Texas is taking decisive action.
Trump has pledged to begin deportation efforts on his first day in office to address the nearly 11 million illegals living in the U.S.
Trump’s White House press secretary nominee Karoline Leavitt said, “On day one, President Trump will marshal every lever of power to secure the border, protect their communities, and launch the largest mass deportation operation of illegal immigrant criminals in history.”
The land Texas offered includes Fronton Island, where authorities previously found evidence of weapon caches and improvised explosive devices. Since securing the island, cartel-related activities have stopped.
