(AmericanProsperity.com) – Widely renowned as the “great one,” conservative Fox News icon Mark Levin has unexpectedly slammed President Donald Trump’s recent comments on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
This surprising turn of events has sent shockwaves through the MAGA community, especially due to Levin’s harsh criticism.
Levin is known for his unwavering support of conservative values and his support for President Trump.
However, he took aim at the president’s attacks on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In a bold move, Levin defended Zelensky’s actions and refuted President Trump’s remarks about the Ukrainian leader being a dictator.
“Zelensky ordered martial law — that’s what the constitution there compelled. Zelensky hasn’t called for an election — that’s what the constitution there compels,” Levin stated, directly challenging President Trump’s narrative.
The Fox News host did not stop there. He went on to emphasize a crucial point: “Ukraine did not invade Russia. Russia invaded Ukraine.”
Additionally, Levin stated, “MAGA doesn’t support Putin. 81% of the American people do not trust Putin because 81% of the American people are smart.”
Levin’s criticism extends beyond just defending Zelensky. He took the opportunity to deliver a scathing history lesson on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s rise to power and crimes.
Some argue Levin did so to remind conservative viewers of the true nature of the Russian leader, perhaps in an attempt to curb any growing sympathy for Putin within the MAGA movement.
In a particularly pointed comment, Levin questioned the logic behind Putin’s demands for elections in Ukraine.
“Now, I’m waiting for the first free election for Vladimir Putin. I mean, this is almost comical in a sick way that Putin is demanding an election. Why is he demanding an election in Ukraine when he doesn’t have free and real elections in his own country?” he questioned.
While Levin’s criticism of President Trump might seem like a betrayal to some, it is important to note that he framed his arguments in terms of presenting facts for public judgment.
“Now look, I don’t have a problem if it’s the position of our administration to cut back on support for Ukraine — which I oppose, by the way — then so be it,” Levin explained.
“Elections have consequences, so be it. But I want to make sure the facts are on the table and you, the American people, draw your own conclusion,” he added.
With his remarks, Levin seeks to maintain his commitment to conservative principles while challenging what he sees as misinformation.
