(AmericanProsperity.com) – A world “where everyone is safe and respected” is a worthy dream, although most people acknowledge humanity will always fall short of that lofty goal. This phrase is in the mission of Time’s Up, a non-profit that says it fights to end sexual harassment against women. Yet, the organization’s president and CEO, Tina Tchen, just resigned after reports revealed she consulted with former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) over how to deflect the sexual harassment allegations he faces.
On Thursday, August 26, Tchen announced her resignation, less than 24 hours after confirming her consultations with Governor Cuomo. New York Attorney General Letitia James recently uncovered that the Time’s Up co-founder, Roberta Kaplan, also worked with Cuomo during his first sexual harassment accusation. Kaplan resigned earlier this month.
Time’s Up announced the resignation, as well as Tchen’s successor, on Twitter:
6/6 Beginning Tuesday, August 31st, @MonifaBandele will become our Interim CEO."

Tchen defended the organization, despite its work with Governor Cuomo, highlighting how it tried to “to hold powerful people accountable” while also working alongside them to “make things better.”
That’s one way of looking at it. But, given the situation, it also looks like well-connected elites watching each others’ backs and are losing sight of the mission at hand. Now, both Cuomo and Tchen are off to find new jobs, hopefully bringing fewer scandals to the table.
