(AmericanProsperity.com) – After President Donald Trump ruffled feathers abroad, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky lashed out at him by accusing him of parroting Russian propaganda.
Zelensky claimed that President Trump has fallen for Russia’s lies regarding the conflict in Eastern Europe.
“Unfortunately, President Trump – I have great respect for him as a leader of a nation that we have great respect for, the American people who always support us – unfortunately lives in this disinformation space,” the Ukrainian leader stated.
This accusation comes after President Trump questioned Zelensky’s abysmal approval ratings and called for elections in Ukraine.
President Trump’s sharp criticism of Zelensky’s leadership struck a nerve, exposing the Ukrainian president’s vulnerability.
The American leader pointed out Zelensky’s plummeting popularity, stating, “He’s down at 4% approval rating.”
While Zelensky quickly disputed this figure, citing higher numbers from certain polls, the fact remains that his grip on power is slipping.
“He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing (Joe) Biden ‘like a fiddle,'” President Trump said in a post.
“In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only ‘TRUMP,’ and the Trump Administration, can do,” he added.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov praised Trump’s criticism of Zelensky, calling the Ukrainian leader “pathetic.”
“Trump, I think, is the first Western leader to publicly and openly say that the cause of the Ukrainian conflict was the efforts of the previous administration to expand NATO,” Lavrov stated.
“No Western leader has actually said that before. So that is already a signal that he understands our position,” he added.
Zelensky also accused President Trump of helping “Putin to break out of years of isolation. All of this has no positive impact on Ukraine.”
As European leaders fret over potential changes in security arrangements, it is clear that President Trump’s bold leadership is needed on the world stage.
His willingness to engage in dialogue with Russia, as suggested by French President Emmanuel Macron, demonstrates a pragmatic approach to resolving conflicts.
While Zelensky continues to plead for security guarantees and financial support, President Trump’s focus remains on protecting American interests and taxpayer dollars.
