COO of Beyond Meat Suspended

(AmericanProsperity.com) – A case of apparent road rage on September 17 led Beyond Meat’s chief operating officer (COO), Doug Ramsey, into an act of violence. The business executive reportedly attacked another motorist in a Fayetteville, Arkansas, parking garage. In light of the ensuing charges, which include third-degree battery and terroristic threatening, the vegan food manufacturer suspended the executive.

Ramsey had reportedly attended a University of Arkansas Razorbacks game against the Missouri State Bears. While he was attempting to leave the parking structure, a Subaru tapped his Ford Bronco’s front tire. The accused allegedly fell into a rage and punched out the other car’s back window before attacking the driver. According to a Fox News report, the COO struck the motorist and bit the person’s nose. The victim revealed the executive also threatened his life.

Passengers in both cars eventually intervened and separated the two.

Booking records show Ramsey entered the jail on September 17 at 11:14 p.m., and a judge released him after he posted an $11,085 bail bond the next morning, roughly 12 hours later. The 53-year-old returns to court on October 19.

Beyond Meat immediately issued a press release announcing Ramsey’s suspension. The company said its senior vice president of manufacturing operations, Jonathan Nelson, would take over as interim COO.
