(AmericanProsperity.com) – Former President Donald Trump has said that his former GOP rival, Nikki Haley, will likely be a supporter as he faces off against Biden in the election.
Trump said that Haley would “absolutely be on our team in some form” as he goes against President Joe Biden in this year’s election. Nikki Haley made her first public speech since she dropped out of the presidential race, saying she would vote for Trump in the election.
She was Trump’s biggest rival in the GOP primaries before she decided to suspend her campaign. During a question and answer someone asked Haley who she believed would handle national security issues better.
Nikki Haley said in response, “Trump has not been perfect on these policies. I have made that clear many, many times. But Biden has been a catastrophe. So, I will be voting for Trump.” Trump said in an interview that he “appreciated what she said” and that “the party was together.”
During the interview in New York, Trump stated, “I think she’s going to be on our team because we have a lot of the same ideas, the same thoughts.”
He continued, “You know we had a nasty campaign. It was pretty nasty. But she’s a very capable person and I’m sure she’s going to be on our team in some form. Absolutely.”
Haley was the first major candidate to challenge Trump in the primaries, and prior to this, she served as the Governor of South Carolina. She was also the final rival standing against Trump, but the rivalry ended after the New Hampshire primary in March when Haley announced that she was dropping out of the primary elections.
