(AmericanProsperity.com) – Fed up with the evident media bias against him, President-elect Donald Trump launched a massive $10 billion defamation lawsuit against major outlets like the New York Times and CBS.
Trump’s legal action exposes the media’s relentless attempts to undermine his reputation and influence elections with misleading statements about his finances and political portrayal.
In a scathing letter to the New York Times and Penguin Random House, Trump’s attorney Edward Andrew Paltzik demanded $10 billion in damages for “false and defamatory statements.”
The letter, sent before the presidential election but only recently made public, slammed the New York Times for its blatant bias.
“There was a time, long ago, when the New York Times was considered the’ newspaper of record,'” Paltzik wrote. “Those halcyon days have passed.”
The lawsuit specifically mentions stories by Susanne Craig and Russ Buettner related to their book “Lucky Loser: How Donald Trump Squandered His Father’s Fortune and Created the Illusion of Success.”
It also targets articles by Peter Baker and Michael S. Schmidt that defame Trump. Refusing to back down, the New York Times referred Paltzik to Penguin Random House regarding any book-related accusations.
But Trump is not stopping there. His legal team is also suing CBS for $10 billion over a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris.
Filed in the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Texas, the lawsuit accuses CBS of manipulating news to favor Harris and engaging in voter interference.
“To paper over Kamala’s ‘word salad’ weakness, CBS used its national platform on 60 Minutes to cross the line from the exercise of judgment in reporting to deceitful, deceptive manipulation of news,” the lawsuit reads.
The lawsuit focuses on two heavily edited video clips from an October interview with Harris.
CBS News denied the allegations and claimed they were “completely without merit” and that the interview was not doctored.
This legal action is just the latest chapter in Trump’s ongoing battle with a hostile liberal media.
He has previously labeled the press as “the enemy of the American people,” which resonates with millions of Americans who are fed up with biased reporting and attempts to manipulate public opinion.
“The press is doing everything within their power to fight the magnificence of the phrase, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump once declared.
