Trump’s Campaign Funding Skyrockets After Indictment

(AmericanProsperity.com) – Former president Donald Trump’s presidential campaign announced on June 14 that it has raised $6.6 million since he was indicted on 37 criminal counts by the Department of Justice. The haul comes after a significant income of $10 million within five days, during which Trump was arraigned on 34 criminal charges in New York related to the 2016 hush money payments.

In a press release, the campaign referred to Special Counsel Jack Smith as a “deranged” person and accused him of weaponizing the justice system. The campaign said Smith took this step to attack the former president, and it pointed out that the campaign has raised nearly $7 million in “a few short days.”

According to different reports, this amount includes over $2 million raised at a fundraiser in Bedminster, New Jersey on June 13. That night, the former commander-in-chief gave a 30-minute speech after returning from his arraignment in a federal court in Miami, Florida.

Trump’s campaign added in its press release this amount of money shows the “steadfast support” that the former president enjoys from the US grassroots. It also revealed that nearly $5 million were raised from digital fundraising and $2.1 million at the Bedminster event. However, it didn’t clarify how much money it raised every day around the Department of Justice’s indictment.

Nearly $4 million of the fundraising after Trump’s initial arrest was collected within the initial 24 hours after Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed charges against him. The other $2 million was received within 24 hours after the former president surrendered in the classified documents’ case.

This decrease in the rate of response from US grassroots donors could show some difficulties in motivating the former president’s supporters. Numerous legal experts say Trump could be indicted with other charges related to his alleged attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
