(AmericanProsperity.com) – Many people believe that in the face of imminent danger, they will come up with some smart, snarky comment before they go. Well, the world can live through a group of Ukrainian soldiers. Despite the odds stacked against them, they were defiant until the end.
A small group of 13 Ukrainian soldiers found themselves in trouble when a Russian warship announced its presence, asking the group to stand down or face certain death. But, in what was likely the most defiant response ever, the Ukrainian forces held nothing back.

The Ukrainian response was not likely what the Russian ship was expecting. Unfortunately, their defiance cost them their lives as the warship bombarded them.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that 13 soldiers died, noting that they never gave up and surrendered. The president asserted that all members defending Snake Island, a small but strategically important defense post for Ukrainian waters and southern regions, would receive the Heroes of Ukraine medal, the highest honor for people in the country.
It was reported that 13 Ukrainians lost their lives defending their country on the first day of Russia’s military action. While the country’s people fight for their livelihoods, the United States and other western countries have implemented sanctions against Russia, though they appear to do little as Ukraine continues to feel the impact of bombs and cyberattacks.
But, in an unexpected plot twist, Ukrainian officials on Sunday announced the soldiers might have been captured by the Russians instead. A released statement from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine says, “We sincerely hope that the boys will return home as soon as possible, and the information received at the time of the attack on the death will not be confirmed.”
