Ukrainian Postal Service Launches New War Time Stamp

( – The debate may be ongoing over whether Ukraine will be triumphant over Russia, but citizens of the battle-ridden nation are certain they’re going to be victorious. Ukraine held a contest to launch a new postage stamp in spite of the continued attacks. The winner is unexpected but epic.

An artist by the name of Boris Groh submitted his sketch to the contest. The Lviv resident’s submission earned the most votes, and now his sketch will appear on envelopes across the country. Ukraine’s First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Emine Dzheppar took to Twitter to announce the winning image.

Groh’s sketch, which he says is based on recent events, depicts a Ukrainian soldier holding a rifle in one hand and an extended middle finger in the other. In the background of the depiction, there’s a warship.

The picture pays homage to 13 Ukrainian soldiers who allegedly told off a Russian warship before it shelled and killed all of them. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asserted they will all receive Ukraine’s highest honor for their bravery and sacrifice.

The stamps aren’t for sale just yet. The international community has shown interest in purchasing these stamps as well, giving Ukraine a unique fundraising opportunity. Surely this sketch will end up on a lot of merchandise across the globe.
