United States Secret Service Admits Failures During Trump Rally

(AmericanProsperity.com) – The United States Secret Service has acknowledged a series of security failures that they made during a rally for Donald Trump where a bullet grazed his ear.

The Secret Service reviewed the assassination attempt on Donald Trump that happened at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and identified “deficiencies” in their planning and poor coordination with local police.

Ronald Rowe, the Agency’s Acting Director, said, “While some members of the advance team were very diligent, there was complacency on the part of others that led to a breach of security protocols.”

There has been a lot of talk about the events that happened during the rally and how the law enforcement agency had dropped the ball enough for a gunman to be able to scale the top of a nearby building.

Officials spoke out against the agency for failing to clear the area or respond quicker to the attacker before he was able to scale the building or get shots out, especially when it was stated that local officers were alerted about twenty minutes before the shooting.

The substantial criticism of the agency resulted in the agency’s director, Kimberly Cheatle, stepping down from her position.

Rowe stated, “This was a failure on the part of the United States Secret Service. It’s important that we hold ourselves to account for the failures of July 13th and that we use the lessons learned to make sure that we do not have another failure like this again.”

The report was five pages long and referred to mistakes such as a lack of communication, an “over-reliance” on mobile devices, and not resolving “line of sight issues.”
