(AmericanProsperity.com) – China is holding America hostage and one US Senator has had enough. Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) acknowledged that the US is experiencing a serious supply chain issue because of a key issue. Cheap labor has made the US reliant on China for our lives and livelihoods.
Gardner is not alone. Other Senators are calling for manufacturers to return to the US as well. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) was another who expressed her opinion:
When China threatens to withhold access to life-saving medications, the integrity of our pharmaceutical supply chain becomes a national security & public health issue. @SenatorMenendez and I introduced the bipartisan SAM-C Act to bring pharmaceutical manufacturing back to the US. pic.twitter.com/H1PiH91q3G

Currently, the US is experiencing a shortage of face masks needed by medical professionals. This shortage is primarily caused by Beijing refusing to allow American manufacturers to ship their products made in China out of the country. China says this policy is due to the coronavirus pandemic and that it needs masks, too.
Over the last few weeks, China threatened to cut off the supply of life-saving drugs to the United States over its displeasure with President Trump. Gardner said there’s a difference between not receiving toys and not receiving essential products needed to combat a pandemic. He further said all medications and life-saving equipment ought to be made in the US.
It makes sense, because the last thing we need is another country hijacking the lives of US citizens.
