(AmericanProsperity.com) – Back in 2017, then-President Donald Trump issued a travel ban that limited travelers from entering the United States from certain countries that were known to house terrorists. Back then, Democrats rallied against the order, calling it a “Muslim Ban.” Now, four years later, Democrats are using their current political power to try and pass a bill that would prevent a president from doing that again.
On Wednesday, April 21, the House of Representatives voted 218-208, mainly along party lines, in favor of the National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants (NO BAN) Act. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelsoi (D-CA) shared her view of it on Twitter:
Today, the House is taking action to ensure that no president or administration can ever again abuse its authority by waging discrimination on the basis of religion. The #NoBanAct restores the separation of powers by limiting executive action to issue future religious bans.

While Pelosi called the 2017 ban an abuse of authority, Representative Tom McClintock (R-CA) noted that a president’s ability to ban allows him to “protect against threats, negotiate security protocols, and when necessary, to retaliate against discriminatory actions.” House Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) also noted it would be more “common sense” to secure the southern border than push bills about a years-old disagreement.
While our nation is struggling through a variety of challenges, the Democrats are pushing forward legislation clearly targeting former President Trump. It’s obvious that it’s another anti-Trump stunt, rather than helpful, facts-based legislation.
