(AmericanProsperity.com) – Probing into the 2016 Russia investigation will continue for quite some time, as Attorney General William Barr recently revealed attorney John Durham will serve as special counsel to investigate the matter. But, this new appointment comes as the Senate prepares to hold hearings for Joe Biden’s pick for his Attorney General, causing quite the stir.
Durham will serve as special counsel with the same authority as Robert Mueller until he finishes the new report, which could go well into 2021. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) shared his thoughts on the appointment:

But, if a Biden presidency happens, a new Attorney General could be motivated to terminate Durham before the report is published.
Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Josh Hawley (R-MO) both spoke out against “any attorney general who would impede that investigation or who would obstruct justice,” saying they should not be confirmed. On the other hand, Senator Maxie Hirono (D-HI) said the investigation “has no basis” and thus, should be stopped.
Americans deserve to know the truth about what happened in 2016. So, during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for Biden’s Attorney General nominee, our Senators must only confirm someone willing to let this investigation finish.
