(AmericanProsperity.com) – The fight to protect those who cannot protect themselves is one that’s likely to go on until the end of time. In our generation, Americans are hoping to save the lives of the unborn. Three GOP Senators are leading the way by asking the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) to overturn Roe v. Wade.
On Monday, July 26, senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Josh Hawley (R-MO), and Mike Lee (R-UT) sent an amicus brief to SCOTUS asking the nation’s highest court to reconsider its 1973 ruling in Roe v. Wade and its 1992 ruling in Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey. As it stands, these laws allow a doctor to abort a baby while it’s alive and well in its mother’s womb.
The senators highlighted that the current precedent is “untenable” and gives judges the ability “to interpret it according to their own policy preferences, usurping the constitutional prerogatives of the legislature.”

The brief was sent to support petitioners in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case the SCOTUS agreed to hear in the fall. With the current conservative majority on the court, there’s a possibility these pro-abortion rulings could be overturned and babies’ lives will be protected once again.
