(AmericanProsperity.com) – America’s first black woman to be nominated to the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) underwent confirmation hearings on March 21. Ketanji Brown Jackson went through the same process as any other justice on the nine-judge panel. Yet, co-host of ABC’s The View Whoopi Goldberg criticized Republicans for the use of their time, claiming all they did was complain.

Goldberg felt Republicans used their time during Jackson’s hearing to air out their grievances. She accused them of complaining about issues from the year 1910 to the day of the hearing. After Goldberg’s comments, the show played a few clips of Republican Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Ted Cruz (R-TX), and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), each asking their own questions.
The other hosts of the show jumped in to criticize Republicans as well. Joy Behar mentioned Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA) for asking Jackson whether or not she believed the First Amendment applied to Democrats and Republicans equally and fairly. Behar mentioned the senator’s question was the dumbest ever.
Another host of the show, Sunny Hostin, asserted that she and other black women are being robbed of the questions that really need to be asked, giving examples such as the SCOTUS nominee’s judicial philosophy or whether or not Jackson would recuse herself when there was a conflict of interest.
While the hosts on The View are upset about the question Republicans asked, they should look back a few years and see how Democrats berated and lambasted Trump nominees during their hearings. It’s safe to say that Republicans have treated Jackson much more fairly.
