Zelenskyy Blasts Trump Over War Comments

(AmericanProsperity.com) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky blasted former President Donald Trump over his claims that he would end the Ukraine-Russia war if elected again. During a July 9 interview with ABC’s “This Week,” Zelensky told host Martha Raddatz that Trump’s desire to end the war should be based on “Real-life experience.”

He also criticized the former commander-in-chief for not “ending the war” during his administration, as he remembered that the Russian invasion started in 2014. Zelensky claimed that while the armed conflict wasn’t a “full-scale war” at that time, his country was already at war with Russia. He then said that he believes Trump had “the 24 hours” he said he could use to end the war during his administration, but he decided to use it on “other priorities.”

When asked about what can be negotiated to end the war, Zelensky said there are some things that are impossible to negotiate. He told Raddatz that if US President Joe Biden proposes to end it at the cost of having to “give up our territories,” he wouldn’t take “five minutes” to reject the proposal.

Finally, the Ukrainian leader said that while he understands that some Americans criticize the delivery of military aid, he said this is necessary to beat Moscow. He pointed out that this military aid will be enough when his country has “enough to win the war.”

Over the last few weeks, Trump has repeatedly claimed that if he wins the 2024 presidential election, he would end the Ukraine-Russia war in a day. He has also criticized the Ukrainian government and praised Russia president Vladimir Putin. Many world leaders criticized the Republican leader as he said that Putin was a “genius” right after invading Ukraine in 2022.

Other GOP leaders and presidential candidates have expressed support for Kyiv and blasted Trump for his comments about Russia and its invasion. One of these was his former Vice President Mike Pence, who said during a June town hall that he and most people know the difference between a “genius and a war criminal.”
