The tech billionaire’s regret comes after a week-long feud that threatened his business empire and showcased the risks of challenging the President.
Today, Musk posted on X that he conceded that some of his social media posts directed at President Trump crossed a line.
“In retrospect, I regret some of the posts I made,” Musk wrote.
This took an unusually contrite tone after days of increasingly hostile attacks against the President that included unfounded allegations connecting Trump to Jeffrey Epstein.
Musk’s admission comes after he deleted several inflammatory tweets, including those endorsing Trump’s impeachment.
The tech mogul had served as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for 130 days before departing and turning against the administration over policy disagreements that escalated into personal attacks.
The conflict erupted when Musk publicly opposed President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” calling it a “disgusting abomination.”

The President, known for his unwillingness to back down from a fight, responded by suggesting there would be consequences if Musk supported Democrat candidates.
