After President Donald Trump took decisive action to restore order in Los Angeles, extreme leftist Gavin Newsom resorted to attacking him by calling him a “stone cold liar.”
The California governor launched his tirade against the president’s decision to federalize 2,000 of the state’s National Guard troops amid growing illegal immigration protests.
The confrontation highlights the escalating battle between federal enforcement and California’s radical sanctuary policies.
President Trump’s bold move to deploy National Guard troops comes after days of escalating protests over immigration enforcement in Los Angeles.
The president has justified his decision to federalize the Guard as part of his commitment to maintaining law and order where local officials have failed.
Newsom’s meltdown was on full display during a press conference when he repeatedly called the president a “liar” and questioned his mental fitness.
The California governor claimed the president never informed him about federalizing the National Guard, despite the president’s statements to the contrary.
Rather than addressing the chaos in his state’s largest city, Newsom chose to launch personal attacks against President Trump.
“He lied, he lied. On my mother and dad’s grave. I don’t mess around, when I say this, he lied. Stone cold liar,” Newsom said during his rant.
Newsom further claimed the deployment came “completely out of left field” and condemned the use of Marines to support Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations as “illegal” and “unconstitutional.”
For supporters, the Trump administration’s actions were necessary to “liberate” Los Angeles from protesters who were threatening to burn the city to the ground.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem suggested that these protesters might be funded by outside organizations, including NGOs and unions.
Adding to the chaos created by California Democrats, US Senator Alex Padilla was forcibly removed from a press conference after attempting to aggressively question Secretary Noem.
President Trump defended his decisive action, stating that it prevented Los Angeles from “burning to the ground.”
While Newsom continues to prioritize illegal immigrants over the safety and security of legal residents, the president has shown he is willing to take the necessary steps to protect American citizens and uphold the rule of law.
Newsom also complained that National Guard troops were redirected from duties like wildfire prevention to manage protests.
As immigration enforcement extends into California’s agricultural areas and protests spread to other cities, it remains to be seen whether state leaders like Newsom will continue to obstruct federal law enforcement efforts.
