Biden Says Trump Is Being “Un-American”?

( – The upcoming election in November has brought on some really tense times, especially for the presidential candidates. In this case, Biden has recently spoken out against Donald Trump, who is running for the 2024 presidential election.

Recently Donald Trump told Russia, in a recent speech, to “do what they want” to the countries of NATO members that weren’t meeting their spending budgets for defense. Biden had some words to say about Trump’s speech calling his words “shameful” and “dumb” as well as calling Trump “un-American” for suggesting that.

“The former president has set a dangerous, and shockingly, frankly un-American signal to the world. When America gives its word, it means something. When we make a commitment, we keep it. And NATO’s a sacred commitment. Donald Trump looks at this as if it’s a burden.” Biden said, responding to these comments from Trump.

Trump’s statement was a response to a question asked by “one of the presidents of a big country” wondering if Russia invaded a country that had not paid its dues if America would step in to help. In response, Trump said, “No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You got to pay. You got to pay your bills.”

The U.S. involvement in NATO has always been a problem for Trump and during his presidency, he made it clear that he is not a fan of NATO; he’s expressed that he’s not happy with what other countries pay in defense versus what the United States pays. In response, NATO said that any attack on a NATO country is an attack on all of them, expecting that the United States is a part of that.

Said Biden, “The whole world heard it. The worst thing is, he means it.” He also saw it as “an invitation to Putin.”

Joe Biden continued, “No other president in our history has ever bowed down to a Russian dictator. Let me say this as clearly as I can: I never will. For God’s sake, it’s dumb, it’s shameful, it’s dangerous.”
