Social Media Site Outages Affect Thousands?!

(AmericanProsperity.com) – A 2-hour social media outage for Facebook, Instagram, and Threads affected many people across the United States.

Many Americans on Tuesday were affected by a social media outage that lasted a couple of hours. Facebook and Threads were the main platforms affected during the outage, which began around 10 AM when people were having issues with their feed refreshing. Following this, many people were automatically logged out of their accounts and unable to access them again. Some people were affected more than others as some could access the app and log in but others could not.

Andy Stone, Meta’s spokesperson, said “Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have difficulty accessing some of our services. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

The outages happened on the same day that the Super Tuesday primary elections were taking place in the United States. Elections and politicians usually use social media like Instagram and Facebook to reach voters, so the outage affected this.

Hashtags #instagramdown and #facebookoutage were trending on X amid the outage when they would normally be hashtags regarding the election.

With this, Meta is also experiencing other issues with the Meta Admin Center, Facebook and Instagram Shops, and WhatsApp Business API; YouTube even said that they were experiencing issues as users tried watching shorts but only a blank page showed. Some users also had issues with Gmail such as email delivery and sending issues.

The outages were all resolved by noon after a couple of hours; they got everything back up and running and users were able to get back in without trouble.
