Steve Bannon’s Old Lawyers Are Coming After Him

(AmericanProsperity.com) – Steven Bannon is getting sued by his old lawyers for nearly $500,000 after they claim that he has outstanding legal fees, according to The Hill. A complaint filed last week stated that the former Trump strategist was represented by Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP (DHC) to fight the subpoena issued by the now-dissolved January 6 Select Committee.

The case was just one of many over a period of two years that was taken on by the firm, which says that Bannon agreed to pay them a total of $855,487.87. He had reportedly only paid them $375,000, leaving a remainder of $480,487.87 that the firm is suing him for.

Bannon was represented by DHC from November 2020 to November 2022 the complaint states, noting that it had sent him invoices to which he never objected. The complaints adds that the firm would like to schedule a hearing.

Bannon was sentenced to four months in prison and fined $6,500 after he was found in contempt of Congress for not complying with the January 6 committee’s subpoena. He filed an appeal in November, according to Just the News

Bannon called the investigation a “Moscow show trial” and frequently criticized the committee for what he suggested was a politically motivated attack. Bannon was found guilty on two counts in July after a two-hour deliberation from a 12-member jury.

Judge Carl Nichols, who knocked down Bannon’s “executive privilege” argument, reportedly ruled against Bannon because he believes what transpired on January 6 is “serious.”

It was also reported that part of Bannon’s conviction was due partly because of his severe criticism of the committee and investigation. Senior writer and journalist for American Greatness released a court document that expresses the prosecution’s desire for a maximum sentence after Bannon was heard using “hyperbolic” and “violent” rhetoric.
