Deadly Street Racing Claims Four Lives

Silas Sampson, 22, turned a Tampa street into a killing field early Saturday morning when his vehicle crashed into Bradley’s on 7th bar, killing four people and injuring thirteen others.

Police confirmed three victims died at the scene, while a fourth succumbed to injuries at the hospital. The suspect had been observed street racing previously in Tampa, highlighting a dangerous pattern of reckless behavior that authorities failed to stop before it turned fatal.

Police Chase Ends in Catastrophic Crash

Tampa police were monitoring Sampson’s vehicle around 12:45 a.m. as he drove recklessly on I-275 before exiting at high speed. Officers attempted an unsuccessful PIT maneuver during the pursuit, but Sampson continued his dangerous flight from law enforcement.

His vehicle finally came to rest after plowing into the outdoor patio area of Bradley’s on 7th, a local establishment that describes itself as a welcoming neighborhood bar.

Victims Face Long Road to Recovery

The casualty count rose throughout Saturday as two additional victims self-transported to local hospitals, bringing the total injured to thirteen. Two patients remain in critical condition, fighting for their lives after this senseless act of violence.

Seven others are listed in stable condition, while two were treated at the scene and released. Two more victims were admitted to hospitals but have since been discharged, according to police updates.

Community Demands Justice and Accountability

Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw called the incident a “senseless tragedy” and vowed that his department and the Florida Highway Patrol would seek justice for the victims and their families.

Bradley Nelson, owner of the targeted establishment, asked the community to remember the victims in their prayers while announcing the bar would remain closed until Monday.

Police emphasized there was no evidence suggesting Sampson targeted any specific persons or businesses, but this provides little comfort to families destroyed by his reckless actions.
