NFL Star Forced To Cancel Event At Trump Location

(AmericanProsperity.com) – American football safety star Jordan Poyer announced on June 24 he decided to cancel his annual charity golf tournament at the Blue Monster golf course at former President Donald Trump National Doral in Florida. The Buffalo Bills player said he took this decision as there were “external pressures” from some participants to withdraw from the July 10 event.

In an Instagram post, Poyer said that he rescheduled his annual golf event “for next year.” He also said he regretted taking this decision as this event in South Florida was meant to help raise money for “the community.” The NFL safety explained that the main issue was the event’s location, which he said led to some golfers and sponsors withdrawing at the “last minute.”

Poyer pointed out that, while he feels disappointed with the turn of events, he understands participant concerns and knows they also went through some “external pressures.” He wrote on his Instagram post he will be hosting this event next offseason, free from “external distractions.”

According to different reports, the main goal of this golfing event was to help the FCMC Foundation, which is one of the main hospitals in Buffalo. In a statement, its Director Susan Gonzalez noted that the foundation was “fortunate” to be a beneficiary of the NFL player’s Florida golf tournament. She also said she respects Poyer’s decision and hopes he could keep supporting the foundation in his next events.

During an interview with the Buffalo News, Poyer’s wife Rachel Bush announced that the golfing tournament will take place in 2024 at Trump’s course no matter what. She also criticized the fact that the event had to be canceled because of the location’s “political implications” and the “arrogance” of many who initially supported the tournament.

Finally, Bush told the Buffalo News she and her husband will always defend their beliefs, pointing out that organizing this event is never about the “money.”
